UAMS high Performance Computing (HPC) cluster

Our HPC is composed of 96 traditional Xeon CPU nodes each with 28 cores and 128 GB of memory (2688 CPU cores), 96 Xeon Phi nodes each with 64 cores, of which 80 have 384 GB of memory and 16 have 192 GB of memory (6144 Phi cores total), 34 Xeon nodes with 24 cores and 128 GB of memory plus 2 NVIDIA GPUs (72 CPU cores, 6 GPUs with 27,264 total cores), 7 management/login/storage interface nodes and 1.9 PB of high speed storage (DDN GS14KX Gridscaler with IBM Spectrum Scale 5).  All components are interconnected via 100Gbps Omnipath interconnects and attached to external storage and the Internet (both commercial and I2) with redundant 10Gbps Ethernet interfaces. Intermediate storage is provided by a 1PB NAS and long term/backup storage is provided by a 4.2 PB object storage system (Dell/EMC ECS appliances).

We have two PowerStation GX2 Advanced Workstations (PSSC Labs). Each Linux workstation contains 40 Intel Xeon Scalable Processor Cores for a total of 80 cores with hyperthreading enabled, two GOLD 6148 processors, 128 GB of high-performance memory, 22 TB of RAID5 storage, CentOS 64-bit operating system, and a maintenance kit from PSSC Labs.

PowerStation GX2 High Performance Workstations

We have four high performance workstations (PSSC Labs) with 16 total AMD EPYC Processor Cores, 32 cores with hyperthreading, 64 GB High Performance DDR4 3200 MHz ECC Registered System Memory, 2 x 6 TB Enterprise Edition SATA III/ 7200 RPM hard drive for 12 TB storage, Ubuntu 64-bit operating system, and a maintenance kit from PSSC Labs.

PowerStation GX2 High Performance with GPU

We have one GPU high performance workstation with 48 total AMD EPYC Processor Cores, 96 cores with hyperthreading, 256 GB High Performance DDR4 3200 MHz ECC Registered System Memory, and 2x 2.0 TB Enterprise Edition SATA II 7200 RPM hard drives, 1 NVIDIA RTX A4000, 6144 CUDA Cores with 16GB GDDR6 Memory GPU, and Ubuntu OS.

Dell Windows PCs

The facility is equipped with three Precision Tower 7910, four Precision Tower 7810, three Precision Tower 7600, two OptiPlex 9010, one OptiPlex 9020, and three Precision 7920 Windows PCs. Working data storage capacity has been expanded by addition of 15 TB solid-state hard drives to several of the Dell computers.

QNAP NAS Storage cluster

The QNAP storage cluster is a Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution for project sharing among resource staff. The QNAP NAS includes 128 TB memory with 32GB (8GBx4) modules pre-built with 8 x 16 TB WD Ultraster high performance enterprise drives, and RAID set.

PSSC Labs PARALLUX High Performance Storage Cluster

The cluster includes 1 Gateway Node, 4 Data Nodes, and 1 Flash Scratch Storage node with 560 TB raw storage capacity (approximately 488 TB usable storage) and expandable to 10 PB, high speed 10 Gbps Network, remote management and monitoring network, parallax file system is powered by BeeGFS, CentOS operating system. The Flash node is configured with 24 Intel Xeon Processor Cores, 48 Cores with Hyperthreading, 128 GB of System Memory, and 2 x 960 GB Solid State SATA III SSD drives for the operating system and 8 x 3.84 TB solid state SATA III (SSD) drives for scratch computing.
